Walk to Mary

The Walk to Mary has become a pilgrimage like no other in the world.  We start with St. Joseph (at the National Shrine of St. Joseph) and walk to Mary (at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion) to get to Jesus.  Our annual pilgrimage has impacted lives and filled hearts with many blessings from the Holy Family.

– Martyrs’ Shrine tries to respond to the unique journey of each pilgrim. Choose from self-guided prayer walks, liturgies, conversations with one of the Jesuit Fathers, light a candle and offer a prayer intention, explore their gardens, or simply sit in prayer with St. Jean de Brébeuf and his companions asking our Lord Jesus for his healing touch in your life. Also, be sure to check out other daytrip ideas that might be appealing to you.

Annual Mass of celebration at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission.

The St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission Church on West Lake Street, was the first Catholic Church in Petoskey built in 1859 at the request of Bishop Fredrick Baraga (the Snowshoe Priest). It is the oldest building in Petoskey. Its restoration was completed in 2008.
