Hi! I’m the developer of the fishonfriday.org site. I’m super grateful to be able to support spreading this content. I LOVE the pattern of 7… and the concept of time itself being Holy, and offering fullness, forgiveness, freedom and rest. So beautiful. I LOLed at the communist comment! How cool that they built in a mechanism to ensure that people were never permanently in bondage. I think a lot of people feel that way about debt now adays. Katrina BRILLIANTLY summarizes biblical history in a way I’ve never heard done (I admit that I’m not exactly a scholar – LOL). Thank you Katrina! I think your description of Jesus in the Temple in such brevity but clarity, when he says I am the fulfillment of that prophesy of Isiah, is really nice. You’re questions are so compelling. It makes me want to engage in the Jubilee. I’ve already enrolled in a retreat that I discovered while developing that page ( https://fishonfriday.org/catholic-retreat-options-in-michigan/ ) . Thanks to Lucian and Robert too!

This podcast was a lovely way for me to start preparing for my jubilee visit to Rome later this year! I appreciated the brief biblical history as well as the insights into how I might approach this special year. Many thanks to all three of you!

What a great discussion! Regarding the idea of taking advantage of confession during this Jubilee year-
We discussed that topic at our local OCIA meeting last night and one of the things the priest wanted all the incoming people to understand is that it is Jesus who we are telling our sins to and Jesus who forgives them. That is obvious maybe to cradle catholics but a good reminder nonetheless because it is also Jesus who empowers us through the blessing of that sacrament to go out and live our life better! That is why we feel great – we are empowered when we come out! What better rrason to celebrate!
