About the event: The Bishop Baraga Association invites you for a special presentation on Bishop Frederic Baraga, the first Bishop of the Diocese of Marquette, Michigan who has an open Cause for Sainthood. Learn about this saintly man’s missionary zeal and gain inspiration from his life and dedication to the faith. Following the presentation, Fr. Tom will offer private blessings with Baraga’s crucifix to those interested.
Cost: This event is FREE and open to the public.

About the event: St. Thomas Aquinas Parish is hosting their annual St. Joseph’s Day Altar in the Fr. Mac Hall.
– After the 9:00 a.m. Mass, Italian deserts, coffee and donuts will be served.
– After the 11:00 a.m. Mass, San Guiseppe pasta and salad will be served.

The St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission Church on West Lake Street, was the first Catholic Church in Petoskey built in 1859 at the request of Bishop Fredrick Baraga (the Snowshoe Priest). It is the oldest building in Petoskey. Its restoration was completed in 2008.
